Another table runner gift! Nancy came over last night and we had a QNIC. I finished off this table runner and pieced and quilted another one--no mittens on this one!!! I have to figure out what to use for binding. Only one week to go until the big day and I still have lots to do. Some of my cards got mailed today. We hope to do some more this weekend. My neices are coming for a sleepover at our house this weekend. We are going to decorate gingerbread trains! They love to sleep in our "special guest" room under one of the quilts that I made. My daughter gets home from university on Sunday. This will be a busy weekend!!!
I love your mittens! Also, I've bookmarked your blog so I can come back and read backward when I have some time.
ReplyDeleteDo I have time for a mitten runner??? Well, that's the great part about mittens instead of Christmas designs. Here in Colorado (USA), we could use a mitten runner through May some years. Our first snow this year was on the last day of summer. Sigh...
Oh, and is there a pattern you can link to? That'd be great, although I'm sure some digging on my part could come up with something.
Your mittens are great! Love the tablerunners and the placemats. I am working on a mitten quilt now, but think maybe I'll make some extra for the table. Thanks for the ideas.
ReplyDeleteI love your mitten table runner. It's so cute. Your QNIC gives me ideas. My sister from MI is coming and we could hve a QNIC evening and make red and white things. I have the perfect fabric and a great idea to make all things Canadian. I wonder if she would get it?
ReplyDeleteThese are very cute! I'm wishing Christmas was a few weeks away so I could make some up, too! Oh, and I love the placemats also. Do you use wonder-under or something similar to stick your pieces down before you blanket stitch around them? They are very well done. Thank you so much for the idea! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI use fusible web to stick the mittens down and then do the blanket stitch with my sewing machine. The cuffs of the mittens are are quilt batting.
