Fountain Art Glass by FLW --a new project

I started my new counted cross stitch project this week. It doesn't look like much yet but it will get there.  I am so happy to be cross stitching again!


The entire picture is 6" by 17".  I started in the middle.  Hopefully, it will look more identifiable as I add more stitches.

We had some strong winds last night and this happened in our backyard:

It took three of us to get it taken down and tidied up.  Luckily, there was no damage to the bushes and plants in the gardens.


Our yard looks a little more expansive now!


My daughter has been busy working on her London skyline:


We were in London, England in 2010 and my favourite building was the Gherkin (the pickle shaped building on the right side of the picture.). The tall pointy building is called the Shard...it was being built when we were there in 2010.  It's fun to identify the buildings in the pictures she is working on.


I started another I Spy baby quilt this week too.  I will show more pictures when I get more sewing done.  I am using Bonnie Hunter's pattern for Bricks and Stepping Stones.

I will be linking up with Kathy and the other slow Sunday stitchers in the morning.  I am going to a quilt show in Simcoe, Ontario tomorrow afternoon and will be meeting one of the slow stitchers at the show for the first time!  I have been admiring her Down the Rabbit Hole quilt each with on the link up and am looking forward to meeting Sandra and seeing her quilt in person.  I will post pictures next week.  The show was supposed to be today but the wind storm knocked out the power to the building so the show was postponed to tomorrow.

    Sorry about the fence. My mom's fence has been having similar problems. I am thankful ours is still standing after almost 20 years. Your stitching and your daughter's are so pretty. I like her skylines. They are simple, but as you said very identifiable. I am looking forward to watching the FLW window emerge.

    So many storms this time of year! Good start on the FLW piece. I think I have one of his window patterns in the stash, so I'm watching your project with interest. And your daughter's skylines are so cute!

    I always feel spurred on to get something identifiable in a large cross stitch kit, I think that's why I like jardine prive's patterns (small pictures within a large one). Mind you I looked at the FLW sight and they are super designs! Nice to see the London skyline, a great reminder of a holiday. I bought my daughter the Shanghai one.

    We've had some wind and fence issues lately, not as bad as yours. Today we've been told there is the possibility of very large hail to go with the wind. I'm glad you got started on Frank Lloyd Wright, watching the progress is always interesting.

    Love FLW, should look very good in those colors. Our fence is 28 years old on one side and a stiff wind would likely do the same. Hope repairs can be done quickly. Cute skyline by your daughter, too.

    We lost a long section of fence a few years ago to the wind. I like the animal print for the I-Spy quilt.
