Anyone who has been reading my blog over the last week or so has probably noticed that I have had some issues with pictures within the posts and for my header. Blogger changed the photo uploader last week and I think they still have a few bugs to work out! Bear with me--hopefully, it will work better soon!
Today, I spent much of the day sewing two more rows on my Claudia's Quilts row of the month quilt. I finally tackled the dreaded May row--May Flowers and I also did the September row--Apples. I am using only batiks for this project and actually had to go out and purchase some red batiks for the September row. The May row had me stumped about what colours to use. I am not as happy with it as I had hoped but I am not going to take it apart at this point! I have the pattern printed for the October row and will work on it shortly.
This weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving and my daughter will be home from University for the weekend. We are hosting dinner this year so there will be lots of cooking going on--I will have to put away my sewing machine and bins of fabric for a few days!

July "Maple Leaves" and a gift for a friend.
July's row for my row of the month quilt is done. I made red Maple Leaf blocks for Canada Day instead of star blocks for the 4th of July. I hope to get the May row done soon and then I will be all caught up on this project, at least until September 1st when the next pattern comes out!
This little pumpkin wallhanging is for a friend who helped me to sort out a problem I was having with a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. I hope she likes it!
My husband and I went to the market last Saturday and we purchased several different types of zucchini. The purple cauliflower was all gone by the time we got there this week.
My vegetable garden has yielded a bumper crop of broccoli and kohlrabi this year. The beans are still coming along and we have also had lots of green peppers. This picture shows about 6 of our broccoli that I just picked recently plus a couple of the kohlrabi.
We are having pizza with broccoli on it tonight for dinner.

June "Bowties" and August "Hot Sidewalk" Done
I finished off two more rows for my row of the month quilt. The Bowties are for Father's Day and the Hot Sidewalk certainly is suitable for this year! Only two more months to go and I will be caught up. Have you noticed that I am avoiding May? I will have to tackle it sooner or later! The July row is "Stars" for the US 4th of July holiday but I am changing my blocks to Maple Leaves for Canada Day. I have the fabric picked out for the July row, but not for May yet.
I am still working on cleaning up my sewing room. The fabric is all organized now into labelled drawers by colour. Onward and upward. Patterns and sewing supplies are next!

April in August
This morning, I thought I would spend an hour doing another row on my Claudia's Row of the Month quilt. I now have 4 months done, even though we are already 8 months into the year. There are lots of tiny pieces in this and my estimate of 1 hour to make the April row was about 1 1/2 hours short of reality! I will try to tackle another row shortly. May has lots of pieces too! The April row represents Lilies. Each row is 4 1/2 inches wide.
