Hand Quilting in the Gazebo again...

I always talk about how I do my hand stitching in the gazebo.  I thought you might like to see a picture of our gazebo.  My husband is in there reading a book and I sit across from him and sew. We have a bubbling rock and it is relaxing to sit and listen to it while I sew.

Today, I did some more hand quilting on the liberated squirrel quilt. The weather did not co-operate with sewing in the gazebo this week--it either rained or it was too cold to sit outside most evenings. It is beautiful out today--perfect quilting in the gazebo weather!

I am not quilting in every square in this border--not even every other one... I am liking it so far.  I started to do some stitching in the light brown border as well.

The squirrels are starting to store their nuts for the winter already. They must think Fall is here already since we have had a few chilly evenings.

We have some walnut trees over our back fence.  Silly squirrels hide these things all over the place! I did not really want this one by my back door so it was removed...

Some of the flowers are starting to fade but this clethra bush is out in flower... It is right beside the spot where I sit and sew.

What are you sewing today???

  1. What a lovely photo of you in the gazebo, and what a lovely garden you have. I've liked that squirrel quilt since I first saw it on you blog some months ago and love that you are hand quilting it. Our lives are so different - you're thinking about squirrels and Fall, and we're starting to notice the days getting longer and warmer as we're heading into Spring. We don't have any squirrels in New Zealand either.

Sadly our weekend is over and it's Monday morning here already, so stitching has to take a back seat to work today. Yesterday I finished stitching a Gingerbread Village though - you can see it on my blog

  2. Your gazebo looks like the perfect place to sit and stitch. Lucky you!

  3. Your gazebo looks lovely! I have a gazebo, too, and I spent all day out there stitching on my Blocks of the Week from Primitive Gatherings. That's my favorite thing to do in the summer. I just wish summer lasted longer - I was wearing my sweatshirt out there most of the day already. Can't believe I need a sweatshirt in August in Wisconsin!

  4. I love to,sit outside and stitch, too. :)

  5. That is a terrific photo of you stitching in the gazebo! How nice to share that time with your hubby too. Have fun. xo jan

  6. This was fun to see..what a lovely spot. Every time I see your squirrel quilt I think that I need to do something with squirrels too since I feed the neighborhood ones and enjoy their antics so much.

Nice photos of a perfect peaceful sewing spot! :)

  7. What a perfect place for slow sunday stitching! Such a beautiful photo of you!

  8. What a great place to stitch. You and your quilt look very happy!

  9. WHat a cozy spot.....I'm so ready for Fall. Our neighbor has a Walnut tree and as soon as I see the squirrels start burying them around yard....I get a little excited with anticipation too!
