For comparison purposes, here is where I was two weeks ago...
Once I get all of the cross stitching done, I will start the outlining. These pictures always look much better once the outlining is done.
I bought myself some self threading needles this week. I have not had a chance to try them out yet. The eyes of my needles seem to be getting smaller these days (LOL) and someone mentioned that these needles are easier to thread. Has anyone tried them before? I thought they were worth a try for $2.39! I bought them at the drug store, of all places! This particular drug store specializes in mobility aids and special equipment for seniors and others with special needs (including those who can't see the hole in the needle when sewing!)
I was out for a walk this morning and met this fellow. He's a looker!
I managed to catch the right angle at the fountain on the waterfront this morning for this picture:
I will be linking up with the other slow stitchers at Kathy's blog in the morning.
You are going to have a great snowy picture for this winter. I am looking forward to seeing those birds emerge with the back-stitching. Love the bird and fountain pictures.
ReplyDeleteCute little snowpeople and nice captures of the bird and fountain with the rainbow! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat progress and very nice photos...thank you for sharing the needle info.
ReplyDeleteThe counted cross stitch is coming along well. That's one type of stitching that I've never done.
ReplyDeleteCute croos stitch. I use seft theading needles sometimes to anchor threads in quilts. But for cross stitch the thread would come out of the needle to much and shread. You need to get Tapestry Needles. They have big eyes and work great on cross stitch. I'm using a size 24 from DMC on 14 count aida cloth.
ReplyDeleteBeing able to stitch in a moving vehicle is a gift - good for you! I haven't tried self threading needles yet either but I've heard of them and wished for one a time or two. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou made some great progress on your snowmen! I like how you used bright, colors for their scarves and hats! Your pictures are so beautiful! Have you thought of joining LeeAnn's "I Like Thursday" at Not Afraid of Color link up? Your photos are amazing! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYour snow men x stitch is really progressing well! I wish I could sew in my motorhome I could get soooo much done!
