I put my Arizona quilt blocks together and it is now a completed top--36"square. Before assembly, I remade a couple of the four patches. If you look closely, you can see that the cacti are now mirror images of the adjacent block in the next quadrant. Anal, I know, but I didn't like how it looked before.
I also worked on the walking foot quilting on the second potato chip baby quilt. It is about 3/4 done and I hope to finish it this week and get the binding on. One more of these tops to quilt... The raindrop fabric is the backing. I had to add the strip of purple to make it wide enough.
The deer in my winter cross stitch only has one leg to stand on right now... he should have more legs soon. The borders are all done now.
It's been really cold here--I have still been getting out for a walk every day, wearing extra layers to keep warm. The latch on our gate was looking quite frosty when I was in the backyard yesterday.
My daughter has finished reading 11 books so far this month and her collection of granny squares is growing. I think she has made at least one more square since taking this picture. That is her sew together bag that I made her for Christmas.
Finn was so tired one evening this week that he didn't even notice he was using the iPad for a pillow.
I love the final layout of Arizona! Great progress on your other projects, and it looks like your daughter is making good progress too. Finn is right to enjoy the softness inside when it's so cold outside ;)) Thank you for sharing and linking up!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the sew together bags of others. Oh Finn, you must be exhausted. The deer in your cross stitch is really cute. Oh isn't the frost beautiful when you look at it with a positive view? Glad you can still get out for your walks.
ReplyDeleteIm sure you said you were going to use Arizona as a wall hanging so I think you did right to mirror image the cacti blocks! It looks really good btw! Finn does look exhausted! Nice progress on your other projects too.
ReplyDeleteAw, poor little one! I think I might have done something similar before. LOL. Love her little bag of goodies. Your cross-stitch is lovely and stunning quilt top.
ReplyDeletethat latch had so much frost on it I couldn't even tell what it was without you saying!
ReplyDeleteI like the Arizona quilt. I can be anal that way with fabric too. That deer is very pretty. Your daughter is a very fast reader. I am trying to finish a library book that I have had for two weeks. I will probably have to renew it in order to finish it. On top of that she is crocheting all of those granny squares too. Finn is probably tired just watching her. LOL.
ReplyDeleteYour Arizona quilt is so fun - the perfect souvenir from your trip besides photos! Looks like the cross-stitched deer is progressing well. That's such a pretty design. What has your daughter been reading? I just finished the latest Inspector Ganache, by Louise Penny. It was a page turner!
