I made a bit of progress on the University quilt tonight. This quilt is made up of 7 1/2 inch blocks, alternating between pieced blocks and a square of fabric. Some of the pieced blocks are framed in blue and some will be framed in white. I finished doing all the frames on the blue blocks tonight and ironed them. Next, I will be working on the blocks framed in white... My daughter will be arranging the blocks to her liking and then I will sew everything together.

Little Gifts
University Quilt in Progress
I have finally finished all the gifts I was making so now I can work on my daughter's quilt for her university dorm room. I did not have too long to sew tonight but got a few of the pieced blocks started, as you can see by the picture. I will try to do a bit more tomorrow night.
I did not go to the shower on Sunday--I was sick and ended up spending much of the day sleeping. I'm feeling much better now after a couple of doses of antibiotics!

Wedding Shower Gift
My cousin and her husband have 3 daughters. Two recently had baby girls--in previous posts you will see the "I spy" quilts I made for each of the babies. Their 3rd daughter is getting married this summer and there is a family wedding shower this weekend. I decided to make a table runner for the bride-to-be's kitchen table. I checked with her mother for the appropriate colours and this is the runner that I put together for her gift. I still have to quilt it and put the binding on but I think I am in a good position to finish it in lots of time for the shower.
I also recently made a patriotic table runner for the Quilted Table Yahoo Group Swap and it also needs to be quilted and bound. I will finish it this weekend too and get it off in the mail to its recipient in the USA. I will post a picture of it when I have heard that she has received it--I don't want to spoil the surprise!!!
Postcard Exchange
The London Friendship Quilters Guild does a postcard swap each month. I usually try to make a postcard to put into the mailbox. About a week after the meeting, I get one in the mail from another guild member. Since we have our banquet in June, May is the last month for the postcards for this year. Here is the postcard I mailed out...
And here is the postcard I received in the mail this week...
It was made by the Quilt Rat, who tells me that she has pet rats!!!
