Today, my quilting friend and I went to the Oxford Quilt Guild's show in Ingersol. There were quilts displayed in two locations, the Anglican church and the Creative Arts Centre. At each location, we were each given a ballot to vote for our favourite quilts. Here are my favourites:
(The above picture does not do this quilt justice. The gradations of colour were more subtle than this picture shows.)
We went shopping at the merchants mall at the church and I picked up a few fat quarters and a children's book panel for another cousin's soon to be born baby. We had lunch at the church before heading over to the Arts centre for the rest of the show. It was hard to make a decision about our favourite quilts so here are a few pictures of the other quilts that I loved.
This mini quilt was foundation pieced.
This quilt had more than 10,000 pieces. yikes!
This quilt is a miniature, about 12x12"!
This one was appliqued and made with felted wool.
The woman who made this quilt combined 3 UFO's into one completed project.
Tonight, I must piece the backs and make labels for my Fiddlesticks and Sampler quilts. I take them to the quilting lady in Strathroy tomorrow. I just finished piecing another table runner for myself. I will post a picture of it when I finish the quilting and binding.
